This past month we finished up our last session of swimming lessons.  We went on a wonderful vacation with family to the beautiful state of Maine.  The graduation party for Kendrick was AMAZING!  We got to visit with so many people that we don't regularly get to see.  Finally, we delivered Kendrick to Texas Tech in Lubbock and Malcolm to his mother's house to begin school.  Already we are missing those guys!  We are looking forward to September when all the fall activities get started.  Until then ... --Melissa

Here we are at the New Brunswick Botanical Gardens in St-Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada.  What a beautiful place!  We all enjoyed our brief jaunt over to Canada.

We dropped Kendrick off at Texas Tech.  We wish him all the best and will miss him around here.  Go Red Raiders!

We had a FANTASTIC time while on vacation in Maine!

Whew!  The temperature has been HOT!  We have been swimming as much as possible.  Madeline and Evrit continue to LOVE the water.  Madeline also took a Spanish class this month which she really enjoyed.  Baseball is Malcolm's activity for the the month.  I am not sure that we will be doing baseball again because Malcolm seems pretty bored with it already.  Kendrick had a mishap at work and is now shy a bit of a finger.  He is okay and his finger has been healing very quickly.  How nice it is to be young!  Facebook has also been a favorite past time of Kendrick's.  He is keeping up with high school friends as well as meeting new friends from Texas Tech.  Madeline has been a brave eater this month which is very far from the norm.  She has tried several new things and found that she likes them.  Let's hope this continues.  :-)  Corn is one of Evrit's new found treats.  He loved eating it off the cob and also decided to help himself to some whole kernel corn out of the refrigerator one morning.  He is a funny guy sometimes!  Enjoy!

Here is some baseball action!  Malcolm hit a foul ball and was walked both times at bat.  After on base, he stole bases around to third and scored 2 runs for the team.  Way to go, Malcolm!

Jasmine's Birthday Party

I had fun in the water at Jasmine's birthday party!

I did not like being in the pools of water, but I did enjoy the water gun.  I could only work it with my thumb so I often shot myself in the face.

There really were not any kids my age so I tried to stay out of the way of the little kids with water guns and just chill with a cool beverage.

Okay, okay, okay...

Many of you have been urging me to start a family blog. I am not sure how much writing I will do, but I should be able to post the daily and monthly pictures that I send out. We will see how this goes...

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a mom of two part time kids and two full time kids: 

Kendrick is 18 and living at Texas Tech this fall

Malcolm is 12 and into skateboarding and anime. 

Madeline is 4, loves swimming and the color pink, and definitely holds her own with her brothers. 

Evrit is 1, has bright blue eyes and curly blonde hair, and loves balls! 

I love to take pictures, and the kids are my best subjects.  Enjoy!

He was a little apprehensive having no previous horse riding experience, but I told Daddy, "Put your foot in there, kick up, and Let's GO!". And that we did. So much fun!
